How Can I Utilize the Morphing Tool to Create a Layout in Skema? - Ask Alex

Make your life easier by utilizing Skema's Morphing Tool. Say you have a rectangular unit, but it's smaller than the space you need to fill AND it isn't the correct shape. The Morphing Tool can automatically adjust to the unit to your new parameters in just a few clicks. Learn more in this episode of Ask Alex.

Alex here and a question I've been asked is how can I utilize Skema's morphing capabilities

to solve a total of one of my layouts the answer is you take the same approach with

this as you would with any other morphing. so for example if I'm going into one of my

layouts and I have an open space that I want to implement one of the units from my catalog into

but for whatever reason the geometry of the unit just does not fit so for example this

rectangular unit that's too small does not fit into this angled larger space what I can

do is then use Skema free form massing tool to create a massing within the angled space

select the space and then select the unit that I want to implement the BIM information into so

I want to put in the two bed four person b34 unit so I'm going select that hit insert and

now what I'm going to do is morph this rectangular unit into this new angled larger space and as you

can see all the information from this cataloged unit has now been reshaped and morphed into this

new geometry and when I'm working with parametric design or just more specific

spaces I can still utilize my existing BIM data while dealing with new shapes and new geometries

so for example the rest of these Open Spaces I want to implement the two bed four-person BIM

information into and by utilizing Skema's morphing capabilities I'm able to implement this existing

BIM data into virtually four completely different geometries and four completely

different geometries from the original data while still maintaining consistent BIM information
